Outdoorstyles.co.nz is here to spread the word about Outdoor Music
Festivals in Aotearoa, as well as to demonstrate to the world why New
Zealand is the place to be for outdoor music festivals.

The
simple story of bringing together fun people to listen to some music
and spend some time out of town is something that we see value in, and
think it's worth promoting.

The combination of New Zealand's
breathtaking and diverse landscapes, incredibly talented musicians and
our people's strong connection to the land is what we believe makes the
Aotearoa Outdoor Style so unique and special.

We want to keep it
this way and also would hate to see the commercial side take over like
it has in places that aren't New Zealand. The "V Festival" or the
"Wireless Festival" just doesn't work for us. We say: "keep it roots,
keep it real."

We also know that these things take a lot of
planning and aren't always light on your pockets of money either, so we
want to make sure you are well informed to get all you can out of your
festivals. outdoorstyles.co.nz aims to provide good, unbiased
information so you know what you're up for and also to make sure you
know what you need to stay alive. Generally the key to staying alive is
is shelter, water and food, and sometimes the outdoors doesn't spoon
feed you so you need to come prepared.

New Zealand Outdoor Music
Festivals focus on quality and detail, not quantity which is why our
outdoor festivals often labeled 'intimate' compared to other larger
international festivals such as Glastonbury and SXSW.

We've only
been running since October 2007 so we're allowing some time for the
internet grapevine to do it's thing, but lookout for a few more website
features in the future. In January 2008, we introduced user accounts
and photo posting. Next on our to-do list is a car-pooling
section: we're all going to and coming from the same place, so we might
as well team up and save on transport costs. Maybe score some extra
buddies to add to your myspacebook account or something.

We
are always keen to hear from people who would like to contribute.
Festival reviews, photos, ideas, whatever you have to offer we would be
keen to hear from you.
